When are you open?
We're open Monday through to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash. Please ensure you have enough with you when you come for your appointment. Our nearest ATM is the conveniently located at the Foodworks directly opposite the studio.
Do you also tattoo in colour?
Our talented lineup of artists specialise in a range of styles, in both greyscale and colour. Our socials are the best way to see their work.
How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
In Victoria, you have to be 18 or older to get tattooed. Parental consent for under 18's is not legal in Victoria. A government approved ID is essential.
Do you have gift vouchers?
We sure do! Gift vouchers are available in store or via email (minimum spend $100) and are valid for one year from date of purchase.
Is car parking available?
Street parking is available. There is all day parking alongside the train line in Bellair st. In addition, Village Tattoo is right next to Newmarket train station and the 57 tram runs directly to the front door.
Do you accommodate walk ins?
We do accept walk-ins however is advised to dm, email or call ahead to check artist availability.
Do you do cover up tattoos?
Yes, our talented artists are experienced in reworking, adding to, or completely covering existing tattoos.
How long is the wait time?
Wait times depend on your artists availability and the size and complexity of the piece. We hope to have your appointment booked within the month of your consultation.
How do I prepare for my tattoo?
To ensure the appointment runs smoothly for both yourself and your artist, please ensure you are well rested, have eaten and maintained appropriate hydration. Tattooing with a hangover isn't fun for anyone.
Can I drink before my appointment?
It is illegal in Victoria to tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

We also recommend checking with your artist before using numbing cream. Some artists may refuse to tattoo you if you have it on.

Artists reserve the right to refuse service to any potential clients if the client is intoxicated or otherwise impaired, or should they feel unsafe or threatened by the client in any way.
Can I bring my own design?
Our studio does custom tattoo work. We are happy to work from your references but will not copy other designs/tattoos. If you have a 'tattoo ticket'/pass/permission to a design, we absolutely require proof of purchase before moving forward.
It is also important to be aware that not all images make for good tattoos and your artist will work with you to redesign images to work best for your body and the tattoo’s longevity. Our artists have the right to refuse any design.
I've paid a deposit but somethings come up/I've changed my mind - can I get a refund?
All deposits are non-refundable. With enough notice, we're more than happy to reschedule your appointment for a time that suit you better, however you won't be refunded.
I don't like my tattoo, can I get a refund?
We don't offer refunds.
